Have you ever felt that your strength was your weakness? It happens to me every time my boisterous laugh becomes too loud or my organizing gets too bossy. But I especially feel it when my focus on getting something done gets in the way of an important, fulfilling relationship.I've learned over the years that my strength becomes a weakness when there is too much of it, when it gets out of control. And I've also learned that I can keep it from getting out of hand by encouraging my opposite. In fact, if I want to experience the true strength of my energy, I must stay balanced.
Here's how it works: those who have an over-abundance of masculine "task oriented" energy will get things done but they'll get so focused on accomplishing goals that they'll take action just to be busy. Their constant "doing" becomes frenzied, creating unnecessary stress. In fact, they probably get "high" from all the activity but end up worn out.
But by adding some relaxing feminine energy masculine energy can balance its natural inclinations, keeping them from becoming too much. Taking down time to reflect on a job and analyze whether it really needs to be done is a feminine energy check on the system. It will create the space to determine whether there is a way to make changes with less disruption and less risk. This slows down the process, calming the hyper ventilation to a deep, cleansing breath.
However, these feminine energy characteristics which are a wonderful balance to the masculine are troublesome on their own. Imagine an individual who only wants to ponder a question, always wanting to consult others, never feeling that the time is right to make a decision. In their desire to avoid offending anyone nothing ever gets done.
In both cases these "strengths" can become weaknesses unless they are tempered by their opposite. When that happens these individuals actually become more of themselves by being less of themselves. Its the natural way of good Gender Physics! Can you see where this affects you?
